As mentioned earlier on this blog, we are currently in the middle of the absolute peak season for electronic sports events this year. All over the globe, almost on a weekly basis, the professional teams battle it out for huge cash prizes on main stages in front of an eager press and a massive crowd.

This weekend, all eyes were on China for the World Esports Masters 2008 which featured a total prize purse of $100.000 for two game titles, being WarCraft III and Counter-Strike 1.6. Seated for all matches, were invited top players from across the globe, making sure that the visitors only witnessed matches at the highest level possible.

Especially Lyn’s performance has lately been remarkable. On top of placing very well in tournaments over the past couple of months, he is topping the world wide ranking for WC3 players prize winnings with over $97.000 earned so far this year - not counting salary and hardware prizes.
Most of the teams and players went straight to the airport after the finals, heading to Cologne for this years’ World Cyber Games grand finals which is kicking off on the 5th of November. National champions in 14 different games will clash in one of the most anticipated tournaments this year, offering a stunning cash prize of $470.000.
