The dust has settled and the absolute, international elite of gaming teams have probably already set foot in their native countries by now, be it US, Korea, Sweden, France, Brazil - I could go on. This weekend saw a total of 24 Counter-Strike 1.6 and 24 World of Warcraft teams battle it out for a stunning cash prize purse of $280.000 in one of this years’ most important e-sport events, Intel Extreme Masters III Continental and Global Finals, which took place at the annual CeBIT convention.
In spite of having gone through roster changes lately, Swedish powerhouse Fnatic came out victorious in the Global Finals for CS 1.6 (as shown on the picture above) whereas H O N took home gold in the World of Warcraft tournament, beating SK.Korea in a legendary final match (as shown on the picture below).
