Who would have known that this would happen with a proposal on stage at BlizzCon? Nevertheless it did, when Grubby proposed to his girlfriend Cassandra this weekend - and judging from the photos, it seemed like quite a success. :)

Quite a few things have happened over the past 12 days, including attendance at DreamHack Stockholm, QuakeCon, GamesCom and BlizzCon - pictures and the likes will be posted here soon.
The whole idea behind this post however, is to let you know about the annual eSport Awards presented by Turtle Entertainment which took place at GamesCom, where Grubby, the Fnatic team and Fnatic player GeT_RiGhT took home seriously prestigious trophies:
eSports Team of The Year: Fnatic
eSports player of The Year: Christopher “Get_Right” Alesund, Fnatic
Best Counter-Strike player: Christopher “Get_Right” Alesund (Fnatic)
Best WarCraft3 player: Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen (Team EG)
This definitely a very big thing and we’re honored to be working with these players - congratulations the guys with this stamp of recognition. :)

We’ve teamed up with Fragster to finally offer German Counter-Strike players the possibility of experiencing and taking part in SteelSeries: KoTH events.
Like in Denmark, France, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Russia and on DotA-League, the format revolves around the actual community having power to decide which team should play each other for a spot on top of “The Hill”.
Every two weeks, a match-up is arranged per community voting and the winning team walks away with, in the case of SteelSeries KoTH in Germany, 250 Euro. The same team is then automatically playing the following matchup, whereas the contending team will be chosen per community voting.
The opening tournament for KoTH on Fragster is going down on Sunday, featuring the absolute German elite, so make sure to check it out. :)

DreamHack Stockholm is starting today and we’re on place at the event with Media Markt and Dingblog.
With us, we will be bringing some of Fnatic’s Counter-Strike players as well as the Ultimate Gaming Tour winner, Smaugy. They will all take challenges for 1on1’s as well as sign products, take pictures and just basically be around the booth to hang out with the visitors.
Now, for RTS and MMO players, the Dingblog booth will have exactly what you’re looking for, seeing as DotA legend Loda from Fnatic (ex-SK Gaming and MYM) will take 1on1 challenges.
Finally, famous WoW movie maker, Chrille will be in attendance at the Dingblog booth as well, playing Arena PvP (BO3) against anyone daring to step up… :)
There’ll of course be SteelSeries prizes available for all the activities above.

Henning and Erik got a few pictures together from our booth at the 7000-man large Assembly Summer 2009 event in Finland this weekend.
Among other activities, our booth had visits from Team CC players who took Counter-Strike 1.6 challenges, as well as WoW guild Memento Mori. The latter managed to take down heroic Yogg Saron, which was actually captured by a fan here.
