Festival De Jeu Video re-cap

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Last weekend saw one of the most anticipated gaming events in France this year, the Festival De Jeu Video, take place in the heart of Paris. I was blessed with the opportunity of attending and had great fun - especially with trying out the new titles from NCSoft and UbiSoft.

Seconds after finishing the build up of the booth.

Also, the French World Cyber Games qualifiers took place with Millenium taking home gold in both Counter-Strike 1.6 and WarCraft III - we look forward to seeing the guys represent France and compete for gold at the WCG Grand Finals in Chengdu, China in November. :)

Ze counter.

Look below for more pictures of the event and thanks to JeuxOnline and NCsoft for executing an absolutely massive give-away show!

WoW MMO Gaming Mouse AP MFC Error

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

First off, sorry for the lack of updates on the blog in the last couple of weeks. We’ve been overly busy with promoting the new releases, visiting events and working hard on making sure that you will be able to check reviews of the recently released products ASAP.

To the point of this post, however:

We are aware of a recent issue with retrieving character information from the WoW Armory in the WoW MMO Gaming Mouse software.

This has occurred due to recent updates made to the Armory website. It may result in the WoW MMO Gaming Mouse software crash and the inability to link new characters to the software. You may have received an “AP MFC” error, which is a clear indicator of this problem.

You should still be able to use your already linked characters; however, you may experience issues when linking new characters to the mouse profiles. Note that it does not affect the mouse functionality in any way - the armory link is only a visual link to a game character, so you can keep using the mouse profile, including key bindings, macros and other settings as intended.

This issue is being addressed as swiftly as possible.Make sure to check back here on the blog as we post updates. :-)

Introducing the SteelSeries Siberia v2

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Over the last couple of years, we have received a lot of positive feedback and suggestions with regards to our products, one of these being the Siberia Full-Size headset.

We decided that we could bring to reality some of these suggestions from you to our beloved Siberia - without compromising on its design or comfort, thus resulting in the launch of our brand spanking new Siberia v2 headset.

I guess most of you are wondering what the differences are between the first Siberia and this new version so we have listed the changes for you below (and included a nice little picture):

- Driver units boosted from 40mm to 50mm provides a very detailed and precise soundscape
- Near “invisible” microphone system- Closed earcup design for passive noise cancellation

We definitely had a great time and the booth was very well visited by you guys, resulting in an almost fully packed area non-stop. Especially the waiting line for the treasure chests was overwhelming and we want to congratulate everyone who walked away with a prize. :)

Check below to see how it all went down - more pictures are available in our Facebook album.

WoW MMO Gaming Mouse w. Windows 7

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

We’ve received a lot of inquiries on Windows 7 compatibility with the WoW MMO Gaming Mouse, and in spite of not officially supporting Windows 7 use just yet, there is a way to make it work. Simply follow these steps:

1. Uninstall your products driver
2. Select the driver installer in Windows Explorer
3. Right click the application –> click properties
4. Select the Compatibility tab
5. Check the first checkbox ‘Run this program in…’
6. Select Windows Xp (Service Pack 3)
7. Click “OK” at the bottom
8. Run the installer

Note: Some of our applications will not auto-start the tray icon after installation. Simply run it from the Start menu to launch it; it should then remember to auto-start upon restarting your PC.

We currently plan to offer full Windows 7 support in October, when the OS is available in retail. Beta drivers may even hit our downloads page prior to this.

Hopefully this is helpful to some of you guys who have been struggling to make it work - make sure to contact support if you got any questions. :)
