SteelSeries Kinzu software update

The SteelSeries Kinzu software version 1.0.7 has just been released, fixing initial minor compatibility and performance issues.
It is recommended that all users of the Kinzu mouse download the new version - here’s a step-by-step guide on how to install the new software:
1. Download version 1.0.7 of the SteelSeries Kinzu software from the SteelSeries downloads page.
2. Install the software on your computer by opening the downloaded file.
3. Open the SteelSeries Kinzu software application (should start automatically after install).
4. Press the “Apply” button to update your mouse with the latest firmware settings.
5. Your mouse is now updated and you’re good to go. :)

I wish you, or someone, could post a list of specific details that were fixed. :P
October 19th, 2009 07:58
Yeah guys what does it fix? Fix log please? Afaik it fixs the neg accel problem right?
October 21st, 2009 07:25
I wish my mouse didn’t have positive acceleration and didn’t randomly shut off every 20 minutes or so. This is the same thing that happened to my Ikari Optical. Seems like SteelSeries has a bit of quality control issues with their wires.
October 23rd, 2009 06:46
when the hell are you guys going to release mousefeet for these mice? the stock ones drag like no other and also sometimes come too thick, causing negative accel from the sensor being too far from the pad.
October 26th, 2009 06:49
The stock mouse feet got worn off after like 2 weeks of use? then i got steelseries glide and attached it.
Although the drag is gone but the friction definitely got worse. Its hell of a job just to move the mouse smoothly.
Just release the mousefeet for kinzu asap thanks

October 30th, 2009 00:18
Can someone please tell me if steelseries will be releasing mouseskates for the Kinzu and the Xai?
October 30th, 2009 06:58
@Milky, I think they will, like they have released skates for the Ikari. http://www.steelseries.com/int/products/accessories/glide_ikari/information But to be honest, there will surely no differenz to the regular mousefeets.

November 18th, 2009 07:24
don’t blame your brand name with kinzu steelseries =DDDDD
November 18th, 2009 12:55
I would like to know is the kinzu’s positive acceleration a bug or not and can it be fixed? I’m so pissed off with the acceleration.
And the original skatez are VEEERy bad…
Overall, the mouse would be perfect if those problems and fix.
November 18th, 2009 14:19
I agree with KinZU mouse would be perfect without those problems.
November 19th, 2009 04:14
so can you ( steelseries ) tell us when will the problems of kinzu be fixed ??
how long should we wait till the next firmware of kinzu mouse ??
November 19th, 2009 17:17
This mouse fails at everthing else except shape and button responsiveness.
I truly hope that these issues can be fixed with firmware update if not then i just wasted my money for broken product.

November 19th, 2009 19:16
@ ccy :
yes it’s exactly the problem of kinzu.
the question is when will it be fixed ? i’m waiting . . .
November 21st, 2009 10:42
Has anyone got problem with the buttons registering double clicks?
Maybe buttons are too responsive ?
November 22nd, 2009 00:10
come on you simple cant release a “pro-gaming” mouse with POSITIVE ACCELERATION
ignoring this will change lots of steelseries fans minds
November 22nd, 2009 01:36
@ GARRRRRNOVE
agree ! I used to tell my teammates that steelseries is much more better than razer. now they ask me about the failure of kinzu at the basic function of a mouse, acceleration
ironic !
November 22nd, 2009 16:11
Yeah. Steelseries customer support or care for the customers in general isn’t too convincing.
Also these kind of bugs in “pro gaming” gear is just plain ridiculous :D Fortunately my Xai functions alright on my Razer Destructor mousepad. Failed on Steelseries QcK tho.

is this a joke? they aven t released and fix the mouse accel and not answering for months??? i was to buy a kinzu but if they don t even care… someone knows a good mouse (light weighted) as the logitech G1?, they don t make it anymore in france :(
January 25th, 2010 13:04
my mouse feet are fine after a week. no sign of losing them too soon.
February 9th, 2010 06:28
I have had my Logitech mx300 as long as I can remember!! The perfect mouse. It broke a couple of weeks ago. I almost cried. bought a similar logitech mouse, it sucked so bad, i wanted to call Logitech and cry on the phone. So I ordered the Kinzu. It’s perfect, except the acc. and to much resistance on the buttons(my opinion). I can’t forgive them for the acc.
I haven’t tried a mouse that can beat my mx300. It performs perfect(i use low sens), and the simple nice design that i like. I’ve been looking for one to replace it, but no succeed so far!!! Fuck!
February 24th, 2010 04:22
had my Kinzu for about a month and the stupid thing double-clicks like every other time i try to single-click, it’s completely obnoxious. this is totally unacceptable from a so-called professional gaming gear company, and it’s been a week since I submitted an RMA request but i haven’t heard anything at all from steelseries. seriously, this mouse only has three buttons, somehow they managed to screw it up.
February 24th, 2010 17:44
Kan man få fråga varför alla mina 5 steelseries ikari möss har slutat fungera efter ca 2 veckor och det har börjat med “frysningar”?
Älskar den annars, men börjar bli dyrt
April 17th, 2010 09:44
Steelseries kinzu optical mouse is not that smooth….
Is it better to change the grip of the mouse or rather to play with high sensitivity!!!…
April 17th, 2010 18:30
kinzu will be the perfect mouse without acceleration !!
fix it please steelseries, I know U can
April 25th, 2010 15:01
Okay, what the HELL SteelSeries?!
I bought Kinzu and I loved the feeling of it and shape.
But the tracking sucks just so bad! I don’t know what negative/positive acceleration it is, but it’s not smooth!
And Xai is just too damn big.
Seriously, fix the acceleration, or if you can’t, inform your customers! This is BS…
May 31st, 2010 03:45
with the highest honest, SteelSeries should fix Kinzu mice!!! fix the accelerate , it’s so important
June 5th, 2010 18:06
@ Mith :
you have same thinking like me.
Kinzu’s shape is amazing but it need fixed
June 9th, 2010 13:49
I got a problem, my brand new kinzu mouse only works 50%, the buttons are functional but i can`t move the cursor, and i have tried several different mousepads. I also have the latest driver update. Does anyone know what to do to fix it?
July 7th, 2010 14:00
Damn guys, I was looking into buying a Kinzu Optical for my gaming. I’m currently using a Logitech G1. Reading all these comments about positive acceleration is really changing my mind. I guess I’ll have to go with a Razer Deathadder or Salmosa. Heard Salmosa is lightweight as well so it should work for me.
July 30th, 2010 21:05
mybe if you mousefix on xp sp3 the acceleration desapear
July 31st, 2010 02:18
