DriverHeaven posts first English written Xai review

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Honestly, let’s just kick of this post with a quote from the conclusion of the review: “All told, the SteelSeries Xai is the most impressive gaming mouse I have ever tested in our labs.”

<

With the overall 10/10 score and a DriverHeaven Gold Award, Henry Butt really goes in-depth on all the Xai’s features with a result that we are incredibly proud of!

Check out the complete review on DriverHeaven. :)

What’s it like to be in heaven?

Monday, November 30th, 2009

I wonder… I am sure you guys do too. The guys at Digital Living in Switzerland popped the question as well, and all agreed that at least the sound of heaven has to resemble the experience of using the SteelSeries Siberia v2.

We would like to agree - and add that the angels, according to our calculations, look this way too. ;)

Zboard featured in upcoming Russian blockbuster

Friday, November 27th, 2009

This Russian movie trailer for “Na Igre” flew by my inbox today, featuring the SteelSeries Zboard in a really awesome sequence. Check the clip below:

The plot is, narrowed down, about a group talented gamers each dominating the competitive aspect of their title of choice. Supposedly they then gain the gaming skills that they each posses, in real life through a tournament win, only to face some serious trouble/action. :)

Have a great weekend!

SteelSeries + Quake Live + BringIt = NICE

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

This Friday we’re co-hosting a quite interesting SteelSeries Quake Live tournament over on BringIT, offering an unheard-of prize pool for a 16-player tournament.

The unusual part of this tournament is the fact that it requires an entry fee of $5 USD, however the number of players participating is, as mentioned, limited to 16 and thereby making the road to the prizes way shorter than your usual free, 64/128-player tournaments (no disrespect :P).

The prizes are as follows:

1st: SteelSeries Xai Laser mouse
2nd: SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-size Headset
3rd: SteelSeries 9HD gaming surface

SteelSeries feat. Ensidia at DreamHack Winter

Friday, November 20th, 2009

DreamHack Winter, the Worlds’ largest LAN event, is taking place next week in Sweden and, as always, we’re present at the event selling, showcasing and most likely giving away a few SteelSeries products, as well as featuring professional gamers in our both.

One of the activities I want to definitely point out is the fact that we are being visited by Ensidia, the Worlds biggest and most respected World of Warcraft PvE team.

Mackzter, Kungen, Tun and poptisse from Ensidia will be present at the SteelSeries booth from 17-22 each day showing us all how to do successful raids – pro-gamer style. This is a fantastic opportunity for the fans to meet their idols for the first time in Nordics. Be sure not to miss out on some fantastic action with both 25 and 10 people raiding. :-)

Siberia v2 review re-cap

Friday, November 20th, 2009

To end the working week in a proper manner, I thought I’d give you guys an overview of the review coverage we’ve been getting on the Siberia v2 since its launch.

Check below for links to the sites that have put the headset through testing since our last posting where HLTV and XplayN.com had published the Worlds’ first Siberia v2 reviews.

1. XSReviews - verdict: 10/10

“So you’re looking to buy a new headset? Look no further; the SteelSeries Siberia V2 is almost perfect and definitely as good as it gets – great job SteelSeries.”

2. Driverheaven - verdict: 9.4/10

“All-in-all the Siberia V2 is a brilliant all-round headset and should be considered when looking for a decent pair of headphones for any purpose, not just gaming. Its sleek design and high quality finish combined with its superb sound quality mean I would personally recommend it to anyone.”

3. GotGames - verdict: None

“While listing all these specific improvements, it’s worth noting that I was constantly in awe of the build quality of these headphones. Sometimes I purchase and pick up a product and think it’s going to last me a lifetime. These headphones didn’t quite inspire that level of assurance (see the upcoming 7g review for something much closer) but they certainly had me feeling confident that they’d last a long time. They don’t feel anywhere near as fragile as the old Siberias and I’m sure this will be music to the ears of many.”

4. Catch-Gamer.no - verdict: 6/6 (Norwegian)

“Med de nye oppdateringene stiller Steelseries Siberia v2 sterkt og viser seg å være et av de beste headsettene for gaming på markedet på dette tidspunktet. Siberia v2 får full pott fordi det har utrolig komfort, leverer fantastisk lyd til gaming, er funksjonelt og best av alt koster under 600 kroner.”
