World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse software update
A new version of the World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse software is now available on the SteelSeries downloads page.
Here’s a rundown of the software upgrades:
1. Fully localized to all languages with the new in-game mode including the updated user guides. (With the exception of Chinese, where the in-game functionality is not introduced in the game client yet).
2. Improved Windows 7 performance. This should resolve the driver disconnect issue when the mouse settings can not be changed. Note that on Windows 7 the tray icon is by default hidden just like all other icons and you need to click the “Show hidden icons” arrow to access it. You can also make it always visible by pressing “Customize” in the same window and selecting “Show icon and notifications” next to the World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse icon.
3. Improved installer. Now the newer version is installed automatically after removing the old one.
That’s it for the first FragYou post of 2010. I hope you all recovered well from NYE. :-)
/Casper

When will there be Mac drivers available?
January 10th, 2010 17:57
Anyone else having an issue with the mouse randomly stopping working and getting an error stating that the driver isn’t recognized?
I’m reverting back to the old driver b/c I didn’t have that problem before installing this update.

Sandi, at least yours is only randomly stopping. My sons mouse has not worked since November and Steelseries lack of support department has done nothing to help. Poor quality product, poor support, anyone else experiencing the same?
January 20th, 2010 15:44
My mouse has not worked since Dec 4, 2009. After initially great support from steelseries via email, I was informed that mine would be replaced. Since then I have been unable to get any sort of response back from Steelseries. Sounds like you are having the same support problems. I also cant access the support section of the site, it just wont let me log in. Maybe someone will see this…

Still no Mac drivers. Your lack of concern for your customers is astounding. How you intend to keep them is beyond me.

anyone else haveing trouble trying to set up the profiles i keep trying to enter my relam and charater name and its say cant find charitar

I am having the same issue here William. I though this had been addressed and fixed already. That may have been for another OS though. It’s not working with 7 at least.

1/5 stars.
I purchased this mouse afew months ago and set up the profiles without difficulty. It was a really great mouse for the 30 days or so that it lasted until the left click button just quit working like a flat tire, turning the mouse into a piece of junk.
In short the concept and software were 5/5, but its shodily made and will not last.

i just need some help trying to set it up and stuff and it wont keep the profiles and when u try to enter the charater and relm it keeps saying cant find the charater and im running vista 64 bit

Just bought it and hooked it up. Looks like I should have done more research on it. the armory link is not working, and I cannot change colors. Total waste?
January 28th, 2010 09:41
Honestly, this is the worst mouse I have ever purchased. The wheel works every other turn, one of the thumb buttons sticks, the software does not work properly with win 7 64-bit, the mouse itself feels very cheap (wobbly buttons, hollow plastic feel), and it was way too expensive.
I will never buy a steelseries product again.

ill have the same problem :(

I saw this mouse at the store the other day, I’m curious about it but what about that crazy mouse the Razor Naga, that looks interesting. Thanks for the information! Franz

I got this mouse in August of 2009. I REALLY want to like this mouse, but the driver issues make it a purchase I totally regret.
When I first got the mouse I was running XP. Every so often after the mouse install my once stable computer would crash (BSOD) and reboot. I decided to move to Win 7 in December. I installed the latest 1.07 driver. It still crashes. I will say that every new driver release the crashed become less sporadic, but I can not tell my friends to buy this POC.
I finally installed windows debugger and here is a typical stack dump from a crash. Notice that the module Mo2Flter is the WOW Mouse Driver… The fact that an end user had to do this does not bode well for this company :-(

My mouse is broken as well, nothing I did to it, just a defective product. I also have heard nothing back from steelseries. Bad product, even worse customer service. Never buying another product from this company unless I hear back from them soon.
February 4th, 2010 03:16
Heard back from them finally :). Let’s see if it gets fixed.

Hey very good blog!
