CNET grants Xai and 9HD Editors’ Choice Awards!

Monday, June 14th, 2010

null

Quick review-update-heads-up-ish: CNET Australia sweetened our Monday morning (since the Danish summer weather decided to call it quits), by dropping Editors’ Choice Awards on both the SteelSeries Xai Laser Mouse and 9HD mousepad in two reviews:

SteelSeries Xai - REVIEW LINK
Score: Editors’ Choice Award
Quote:

The Xai is an excellent product that proves a mouse doesn’t need to be custom-moulded to the right hand to be good for gaming. Throw in the detailed control panel and excellent performance, and you have a mouse that’s well worth parting your hard-earned cash on.

SteelSeries 9HD - REVIEW LINK
Score: Editors’ Choice Award
Quote:

The 9HD is an excellent product that deserves a place on any gamer’s desk. Those who haven’t used a mouse mat for years may shirk at the AU$50-$80 cost, but for the rest of us, this should help step up your game.

Last week saw the announcement of our Heroes of Newerth mousepad design contest, in cooperation with GosuGamers, as a part of the $40,000 SteelSeries HoN World Cup.

Rules are simple: 1. Create a user over on GosuGamers, 2. Send an email to contest@gosugamers.net along with your design, GosuGamers account name, e-mail addy and full name.

The winning design will be chosen and launched as a limited edition custom SteelSeries mousepad. On top, the winner will receive a SteelSeries prize package consisting of a Siberia v2 headset, a Xai Laser mouse, a 6Gv2 keyboard and finally their own limited edition HoN mousepad with the autograph of S2 Games’ (the guys who developed HoN) founder Marc “Maliken” DeForest.

If your photoshop isn’t already loading, something’s wrong. Get going! ;-)

Recently, China and France saw SteelSeries teams come out on top in the local Electronic Sports World Cup 2010 qualifier events. Especially the Chinese qualifier was dominated, as EHOME took home the DotA and WarCraft III spots, and TyLoo grabbed the Counter-Strike 1.6 spot.

France had Fnatic’s unstoppable QuakeLive duo Pierre-Emeric “l1nkje” Portier and Kévin “strenx” Baéza take home top2 in the qualifier and both are thereby now official French QuakeLive rep’s at the ESWC 2010 Grand Final, which is taking place at Disneyland in Paris at the end of this month.
