Last weeks grand slam events were nothing but an incredible ride for the SteelSeries teams.

First off, at the Intel Extreme Masters World Championships in Germany, Team EG grabbed the World of Warcraft PvP trophy, followed up by SK Gaming’s Shane “Rapha” Hendrixson taking home gold in the QuakeLive tournament and finally Fnatic and SK Gaming grabbed 2nd and 3rd place in the Counter-Strike tournament.

Rapha used the first SteelSeries 7H Headset prototype to win the EM World Championships.

Additionally, at this years’ largest Call of Duty 4 grand slam event, the Crossfire Challenge 7 in the Netherlands, Fnatic managed to take 1st place and Power Gaming 3rd.

Team EG’s American World of Warcraft team took a flawless road to the top of the podium this week in Hannover, as they swept the board completely at the Extreme Masters World Championships and went home with the $25,000 check.

Still to go is the Counter-Strike finals, where SK Gaming, Team EG and Fnatic represent 3/4 in the play-offs as well as the QuakeLive tournament where Rapha (SK Gaming) and DahanG (Team EG) are moving

We’ve opened up a SteelSeries community over on Xfire not so long ago, and recently announced a quite awesome event where you’ll be able to meet/chat wtih Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen (One of the the most well-known faces within competitive gaming worldwide) as well as get the chance to challenge him in a WarCraft III match.

In contrast to other social media networks like Twitter and Facebook, Xfire basically allows for events like this to take place where we can bring the professional players and the fans together for awesome happenings. :)

Check out our official page on Xfire - all information regarding the Grubby event is on the community front page.

Power Gaming and Fnatic at MLG Orlando

Friday, January 8th, 2010

While a lot of attention is fixed on the current CES show in Vegas, it’s without any doubt worth mentioning this weekends’ MLG event in Orlando, where a total of $275,000 is up for grabs and the Halo3 teams representing Power Gaming and Fnatic have taken the trip from Europe to the US, to chase the top of the podium and the $100,000 1st prize.

Check out the “Road to Orlando” pre-event blog from Fnatic team manager George “x2sneeka” Siewert’s or head over to Power Gaming’s YouTube channel and cruise through the videos of their bootcamp with the top US team Str8 Rippin - more videos will be added throughout the event this weekend. :-)

Best of luck to both teams!

SteelSeries feat. Ensidia at DreamHack Winter

Friday, November 20th, 2009

DreamHack Winter, the Worlds’ largest LAN event, is taking place next week in Sweden and, as always, we’re present at the event selling, showcasing and most likely giving away a few SteelSeries products, as well as featuring professional gamers in our both.

One of the activities I want to definitely point out is the fact that we are being visited by Ensidia, the Worlds biggest and most respected World of Warcraft PvE team.

Mackzter, Kungen, Tun and poptisse from Ensidia will be present at the SteelSeries booth from 17-22 each day showing us all how to do successful raids – pro-gamer style. This is a fantastic opportunity for the fans to meet their idols for the first time in Nordics. Be sure not to miss out on some fantastic action with both 25 and 10 people raiding. :-)

What a debut…

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009

SteelSeries Siberia v2 got it’s official grand slam tournament debut this weekend at the Extreme Masters in Chengdu. I blogged a bit about the tournament itself in the post below so to keep it short, SK Gaming and Fnatic ended up facing each other in the grand finals, with SK taking home gold and $15,000.

This is quite an achievement due to the recent lineup changes within the team and what we’re extremely excited about, is the fact that both Fnatic and SK Gaming sported the brand new Sibera v2 Full-size Headset throughout the tournament. :)

Check out pictures over at HLTV or SK Gaming, and check out the new Siberia v2 headset in a white non-USB or black USB version.

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Following up on Milleniums absolute WCG France domination some 10 days ago, Team EG went on to take home gold in the American WCG Qualifier this past weekend.

Initially loosing their first bracket match to Dynamic, EG’s Counter-Strike 1.6 team went on defeat compLexity, beating Dynamic (with a whoooooping 16-1 slaughtering), and finally defeating Turmoil in the finals. Also, EG’s StarCraft player, David “Louder” Fells went on to qualify for the Grand Finals.

EG players Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert and Danny “fRoD” Montaner both used the SteelSeries Xai Laser throughout the tournament, making this the first major tournament win for our new mouse.

Congratulations to EG (and SteelSeries Xai :P) - best of luck at the World Cyber Games Grand Finals in China next month!

Festival De Jeu Video re-cap

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Last weekend saw one of the most anticipated gaming events in France this year, the Festival De Jeu Video, take place in the heart of Paris. I was blessed with the opportunity of attending and had great fun - especially with trying out the new titles from NCSoft and UbiSoft.

Seconds after finishing the build up of the booth.

Also, the French World Cyber Games qualifiers took place with Millenium taking home gold in both Counter-Strike 1.6 and WarCraft III - we look forward to seeing the guys represent France and compete for gold at the WCG Grand Finals in Chengdu, China in November. :)

Ze counter.

Look below for more pictures of the event and thanks to JeuxOnline and NCsoft for executing an absolutely massive give-away show!

“:D”.
